Southampton Solent University Asset Bank Terms and Conditions
By using this Asset Bank, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, you will not be permitted to download or upload any images on this site.
We may revise the Terms and Conditions of Use at any time at our sole discretion by updating this information online. Your continued use of the website after any such changes are made will indicate your agreement to those varied terms. It is your responsibility as a user of the Asset Bank to ensure that you regularly review the current Terms and Conditions of Use.
These Terms and Conditions of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of England, without regard to its choice of law provisions. The courts of general jurisdiction located within England, will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any and all disputes arising out of, relating to or concerning these Terms and Conditions of Use and/or the website or in which these Terms and Conditions of Use and/or the website are a material fact.
This site is intended for the use of Southampton Solent University staff and authorised partners (with prior authorisation from the administrator) only. This site is available for use by third parties such as design agencies with prior authorisation from the administrator.

1. Downloading and using images
Southampton Solent University has permission to utilise the photographs on this site for the following uses only and subject to the following terms and conditions:
Conditions of use Images may be downloaded on the understanding that: they will be used in the promotion of Southampton Solent University only, in materials produced by or for the University (see 'Suitable Use' below); they will be reproduced accurately; they will not be used in a misleading context; they will not be altered or manipulated in such a way as to cause detriment to the University; the source and copyright status of the content will be acknowledged if applicable; they will not be used by third parties for commercial gain.
Suitable use Images are only to be used for the promotion of Southampton Solent University and may not be sold, rented or hired to any third parties, such as publishers. Suitable uses include web pages in the solent.ac.uk domain and University publications, presentations, advertisements and display materials. Images may also be used for one-off editorial use in unbiased print and online media including newspapers, magazines and news websites that have no commercial interest in the image subject matter. For any other use, please contact the administrator.
Copyright All images are subject to copyright law. Where provided in the metadata associated with an image, mandatory credits for photographers and their agencies must be included (if highlighted as a mandatory field in the meta data). You are responsible for ensuring usage complies with these restrictions, even when material is delivered or distributed to a third party. You are advised that we will enforce our intellectual property rights to the fullest extent permitted by the law, including the seeking of criminal prosecution.
Logo use Logos must be used in the formats described in the Southampton Solent University Corporate Visual brand Identity Guidelines. These are available in the SSU Brand, Logos section of this site.
No right to create archive or gallery You may not download or use any content in or to create or establish any online archive or gallery of photographs whether for viewing and/or downloading by any third party or for any other purpose.
2. Submitting and uploading images
Submission warranty and indemnity
By submitting images to the library you are granting Southampton Solent University permission to use them as established in 1. Downloading and using images (above), and confirming that you have secured permission
to do so. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from this Asset Bank, any material for which you have not obtained all necessary licences or approvals.
By submitting your contribution to the website, you warrant that your contribution:
is your own original work and that you have the right to make it available to us for all the purposes specified above, or that you have all relevant permissions in place from the originator to make it available online via this photo library; is not defamatory and does not infringe any law; is not technically harmful (for example, containing viruses). You also agree to indemnify us against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred by us as a result of your breach of the above warranty.
Southampton Solent University’s usage rights Submission of images to this website grants Southampton Solent University perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, play, make available to the public, and/or to incorporate your contribution in other works in any media now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in your contribution. If you do not wish to grant us the rights set out above, please do not submit your contribution to the website.
3. Use of this site
No unlawful use As a condition of your use of this Asset Bank you warrant to us that you will not use it for any purpose that is unlawful, defamatory, could encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, or is prohibited by these Terms and Conditions. Unauthorised use of this Asset Bank may give rise to a claim for damages or be a criminal offence. By using this site, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations as may be in force from time to time.
Ownership of website The website and all of its contents are owned and copyrighted by us or others (including our licensors) with all rights reserved unless otherwise noted.
Links to other websites Southampton Solent University is not responsible for the content of any websites linked from this Asset Bank that do not form part of Southampton Solent University’s website.
Withdrawal of services Southampton Solent University reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend or permanently block your access to this website or any portion of it without prior notice.
Accuracy of content
Southampton Solent University reserves the right to withdraw content without prior notice. While Southampton Solent University endeavours to ensure that the content of the Asset Bank is correct, it does not warrant its accuracy and completeness. It is the responsibility of the contributor to ensure that the subject matter of assets is relevant, up to date and suitable for their
intended use.
User protection It is your responsibility as a user to ensure that you have made all the arrangements necessary for you to have access to our Asset Bank, including protection from malicious software.
Other users You are responsible for ensuring that this Asset Bank is only accessed through your internet connection by authorised users of the site. Login details must not be shared and you are responsible for any material downloaded to your account.
Liability You shall not hold Southampton Solent University nor its directors, employees, licensors, content providers, affiliates or other representatives liable for any loss that may result to you or a third party in connection with the Asset Bank in any way or in connection with the use, inability to use, or the performance of this Asset Bank or the content.
4. Privacy policy
Any personal data (for example, your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address) that you transmit to the website by electronic mail or otherwise will be used by us in accordance with all applicable UK data protection legislation.
